The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) offers two undergraduate curriculum options, Civil Engineering and Environmental Engineering. Graduates from both options earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) bearing the title "Civil Engineering". Our Civil Engineering B.S. degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Accreditation means, that degree recipients are automatically eligible to take the first part of the examination for professional registration and to be credited with 8 years of Education/Experience towards the total of 12 years needed for full registration.
The Environmental Engineering curriculum option emphasizes the study of environmental engineering, environmental and water resource systems, and hydraulics and hydrology. Students completing the Environmental Engineering curriculum option will receive a designation on their transcript stating that they have "completed all the requirements for the Environmental Curriculum Option in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering."
Within the Civil Engineering curriculum option, students may undertake either a general civil engineering curriculum or may concentrate in geotechnical engineering, fluid mechanics/hydrology/water resource systems, structural engineering, transportation engineering or remote sensing.
