1 Students may take either BIO G 101 and 103, BIO G 105, or BIO G 107.
2 Students using one of these courses as an engineering distribution must take an additional Field-Approved Elective.
3 Please
see college listings of appropriate Technical Communications courses.
Exceptions
ENGRD 270/OR&IE 270 (F,S,3) may be accepted (by petition to CEE) as a substitute for CEE 304 if taken prior to affiliation with the CEE field or if necessary due to scheduling conflicts caused by Co-op or study abroad programs.
CEE 623 will be accepted as a substitute for BEE 475 if necessary due to scheduling conflicts caused by Co-op or study abroad.
For students planning on graduate study in Environmental Engineering:
To provide a solid foundation in chemistry and microbiology, students planning on graduate study in environmental engineering should take BIOMI 290 in place of CEE 451 and take CHEM 257 or CHEM 357 as an Approved Elective. Both BIOMI 290 and CHEM 257 or CHEM 357 must be taken to receive approval to not take CEE 451.
Notes on BIOMI 290
Although BIOMI 290 has one year of introductory biology as one of its prerequisites, the Microbiology Department has agreed to admit Environmental Engineering students into the course without this prerequisite. However, students without this background must recognize that extra effort and/or tutoring may be needed.
The Microbiology Department prefers that Environmental Engineers enroll in the Fall semester when the course is smaller and instructors can more easily provide special assistance.
