As with the undergraduate studies, Environmental Engineering can be pursed in
either the Graduate Field of Civil and Environmental
Engineering or the Graduate Field of
Biological and Environmental Engineering. Each of these Graduate Fields
includes Concentrations in which students can focus their program of study.
Relevant Concentrations for each Field are listed below.
Environmental Processes
Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology
Environmental and Water Resources Systems
Environmental Engineering
Soil and Water Engineering
Environmental Management (Master of Professional Studies
only)
The degrees of Master of Science, Ph.D. and Master of Engineering are offered
in each Concentration, except Environmental Management. Unlike our
undergraduate programs, course selection for each student is individualized.
Each student selects a Special Committee of faculty members. This
committee, together with the student, agrees on a selection of courses that can
include courses from any Field at Cornell. Environmental Engineering
graduate students typically take courses from both Civil & Environmental
Engineering and Agricultural & Biological Engineering. Special committees
are likewise often composed of faculty members
from
both Fields.
